Glenorchy Basketball Association works with a number of community partners to deliver basketball and community-minded programs to encourage participation and involvement in sport. We value our ongoing partnerships with community-based organisations within the northern suburbs of Hobart to provide accessible, affordable and invlscive avenues to sport.

Claremont College

Home base for Glenorchy Basketball Association an ongoing partnership with Claremont College to utilise and maximise community facilities and encourage participation in fitness and sport by community members. Partnership with Claremont College and Tasmanian Education Department has also resulted in a new 'skills lab' development as an addition to the existing gym to service College students, Glenorchy Basketball Association members and the wider community.

The 'Y' Glenorchy

Glenorchy Basketball Association has recently (2026) established a partnership with YMCA Tasmania to operate and manage the basketball court at 'The Y Glenorchy'. Partnership objectives are to provide a valuable community asset that can be accessible to community groups and basketball players to maximise use and increase participation in sport.

Bec Thomas MLC

Bec Thomas is local Member of Parliament that works in partnership and constructively with Glenorchy Basketball Association to support programs and grant applications to secure and develop more facilities and assets within Glenorchy and the northern suburbs of Hobart. As the Independent voice for Elwick, Bec has been a long term partner and advocate for finding positive pathways and avenues for community members to participate in community programs and sport.

Metroll

Metroll has been an integral supplier and key partner in the build of the Claremont College Skills lab. Partnership approach to building and developing a community asset as part of government funding for the northern suburbs of Hobart.

Tassal

Tassal have joined forces with Glenorchy Basketball Association to support the Ford Aussie Hoops program delivery in 2026. Aussie Hoops offers 5-10 year olds an introductory to basketball and GBA is thrilled to welcome Tassal to help support delivery, equipment and resources to running the program. A big thank you to the Tassal team.

The Henry Jones Hotel

GBA events have just been elevated with the partnership with the Henry Jones Hotel. One of Hobart's most bespoke and spectacular heritage hotels, GBA looks forward to a new partnership bringing sophistication and edge to our future events and activities.

SPR Conditioning

GBA works closely with SPR Conditioning to improve athlete pathways and development. A focus on basketball-specific exercises and programming we work closely with SPR to educate, instruct and assist athlete performance via a dedicated programmed approach to training, game-day preparation and off-season work.
